No bother at all. thats why we're all here, to give and receive any helpful tips that help us with our little aquarium obsessions.

The little ball bearing that is inside the pipe has to be removed. I used a hack saw and cut the pipe just above the ball. As you can see in the pictures I have a small piece of vinyl tubing on the end of the metal spout, that is because I don't want the metal tip sitting in the water.

It is gravity fed when the tip is submerged in the water, it seals the air passage and no water can escape. But when evaporation causes the water level to go down, the tip of the water bottle starts becoming exposed, and air is sucked into the bottle and pushes water out until the tip is submerged again. when the tip is submerged it seals the bottle again, and the process keeps repeating itself until the bottle is empty.

Hey, Im sorry to bother you, But I was looking at your Pico Reef setup and its ATO system... How does that work. How does the water come out when ever it is required? What keeps it from just pouring out? I know the Bottles have a little bead in them, but I just dont get how that works! lol. I appreciate the info Greatly! Thanks a bunch!

This little tank only cost me 55 buck from fosters and smith shipped. I upgraded the filter and bought a small heater, I only spent about 100 bucks total for the entire set up.
So its perfect for a hobbyist on a budget. good luck with your future tank.

let me know when you set it up, I would love to see some pics.
